In an earlier article, we looked at some of the things that you need to take into consideration when remodeling your master bathroom. We said that you need to take time to consider all your options, because once you start ripping out the old fittings, you are committed. Therefore, you need to be absolutely certain that you have got it right. Remember that remodeling a master bathroom is not going to be a cheap exercise, and once it is done, it’s done. Unless you have unlimited funds, you are not going to be able to start over.

Here are some more things to consider.

If you like to soak in the tub, you can now get the latest...

Remodeling your master bathroom is always tricky, because – unless you are seriously RICH – you probably can’t afford to do everything that you would like to. Furthermore, remodeling a master bathroom – or any bathroom for that matter – is something that you may only do two or three times in a lifetime. You are going to have to live with your decisions for 15 or 20 years, unless, of course, you move house, and have sufficient finances to do it all over again.

Considerable Time On The Planning Stage

In order to get it right, therefore, you have to spend considerable time on the planning stage. We can’t emphasize this...

We have had a look at the major items that you need to include in your antique bathroom. A free-standing bath with ball and claw feet, or simply claw feet, is going to be the focal point. You could also choose a roll top bath.

We took a look at some of the stunning vanities in the Legion Furniture range. When you consider the amount of detail, and the use of walnut and other woods, these vanities are not at all expensive. They come with antique design faucets as standard, but you could choose from some of the other faucets that are made by Legion Furniture.

Towel bars don’t have to be made of stainless steel, or finished in...

Many people today considering remodeling their bathrooms want to have a very modern look, with everything in chrome and stainless steel, vanities with square clean-cut lines, linen cupboards that are similar, and so on.

However, a bathroom doesn’t have to be that way, and can, indeed look stunning when designed in a much more traditional antique style.

Focal Points

Of course, one of the main focal points in your bathroom is going to be the bath. You can replace that modern-looking bathtub with a roll top bath, or better still, a free-standing bath with ball and claw feet. This will immediately take your bathroom back 150...

Planning a budget for your bathroom remodelling is an absolute necessity if you are not to blow your bank account to smithereens. It is very easy to spend a small fortune on remodelling your bath, and there is one thing that you can be certain of: you will spend more than you planned. One authority reckons that you should decide on your budget, and then add a further 30%, since in his experience many people spend that much more than was initially allowed.

You need to begin by doing your research. Have a look at magazines for ideas, visit any trade shows locally, and go to bathroom stores and talk to the staff. This way, you will be...

Well, perhaps not bathrooms exclusively for kids. Kid-friendly would perhaps be a better way of putting it. A family bath has to be designed with the whole family in mind, but you also need to allow for the fact that kids have an annoying habit of growing up and getting taller.

Some people go to the lengths of lowering the countertop, and this will work for a while. However, two years down the line, the kids have grown another 9” taller. There is an additional problem, which is that if the sink or sinks are low enough for the kids, an adult has to bend over in order to use them. A better idea is to include a lift out step stool in...

A full bath – or family bathroom – is one that gets a lot of traffic, and designing one is very different from designing a master bathroom. A family bathroom gets used by everyone, including guests, in a home that does not have a master bath, so it has to function perfectly for everyone.

There are several questions you need to ask, such as who uses the bathroom, whether children use it, whether you want a separate toilet area, how much storage space you need, and so on. How many people will use the bathroom at the same time? Do you need a tub here, and if you choose not to include one in your plans – or there is not sufficient...

There are literally dozens of different ways in which you can plan a remodeling of your bathroom. However, on occasion there are some constraints, because plumbing and sewage lines can be difficult to move, unless you are prepared to spend a considerable amount of money. Certainly, if money is no object, you can move everything around and have it wherever you choose.

Separate Toilet

One problem is always where to place the toilet. Ideally, it should be in its’ own separate little room, but if that is not possible it needs to be screened off with a partition, or perhaps a Japanese-style screen. In this way, it is possible for...
